FAQ

Q. What separates ASCENT with all the other academies?

There are a number of great academies in the area. We’re different in that we are building an institute where the students can grow in all areas of their life and not just academics. We created our divisions to serve that purpose but we never lose sight of what we are, be a student- athlete, student- engineer, student-leader or student-creative. We also emphasize mentorship all across the board and divisions. We’ll be there to support your student in any endeavor they go on. Community is huge to everyone that attends ASCENT. If you’re here, you’re part of the team.

Q. What are the divisions?

The divisions is the route that any student can take to know what it means to be an expert in a certain field. The idea was to have the student understand how much time and dedication they need to put into their craft. We’re pretty heavy on the self-mastery here.

Q. My student is behind in school. Can they still attend?

Most definitely. We understand that there are a number of factors that play into a student’s growth. Contact us to set up a time so you and your student can come by.

Q. Is the transition from home school to public school easy? What about the other way around?

The transition from homeschool to public school can be fairly easy if the student is properly prepared. One thing to know however is homeschool is not a platform so that one can jump to public school. The biggest challenge may be the schedule change as Homeschool students usually are on their own schedule and are not very pressed for time unless they pack their agenda. The move from public school to homeschool can also be fairly easy but again the biggest change will be the schedule and the agenda also the amount of students, but that is why ASCENT exists.

Q. What are the first steps in trying out ASCENT?

The first step in trying out a scent will be a trial run. It is a no-obligation trial run that lets you pick the program and the division for a certain amount of days. Then after that, we'll sit down and discuss if ascent is a good fit.

Q. My student is ahead in his class and we would like to push him further. Would ASCENT be a good fit?

Yes, ASCENT has many students that excel in the classroom and in their craft. However, we do encourage conversation and dialog with your students' to make sure that that's what they want as well.
